Is there a military base near Ukiah? That could explain somethings...

Ive seen them from a far distance just about every night, usually they scribble around darting and clashing into each other. Only once have i seen one within a small distance from the ground. Late one night a friend and I were up late talking, the window faced us over the mountains, a good view. Suddenly we heard what sounded like an enormous machine, we look up to see a white flashing light in the distance. It approached us at an incredible speed, changing colors as it picked up distance. At first it was only white, and then it changed to all blue, a constant non blinking blue until it got closer, then it started flashing blue and red like a siren. It flew over our heads and disappeared, but for a good minute or so we could still hear that insanely loud buzz. Neither of us said a thing for about a half a year, we both thought it was the strangest thing, but sharing it would of been instant mockery. The first time we said anything, we were talking to my friends mom, who just happened to be in the same position 30 years ago, seeing the same EXACT thing. And then another elder, a teacher, had a really good friend, who also just happened to see the same exact thing and now spends his life trying to find them again. I didnt see that sight again, until recently. hovering, scoping out the land at sunset was that same loud metal junk i saw before, but this time in the back ground colors of the sunset, uncountable little specks, all the same as the scribbling lights in the sky i first started seeing years ago.
